Luxury Slow Cooked Meals At Home From Donald Russell

Looking for something luxurious, convenient and delicious this coming Easter weekend? If so, Donald Russell have just the answer with their slow cooked meals. If you haven’t heard of Donald Russell, they are a Royal Warrant holding butcher over 40 years of experience under their belts. This small butcher has grown into Britain’s leading online and mail-order meat supplier, delivering their award-winning, hand prepared products to restaurants and homes throughout the UK and beyond.

Slow Cooked meals of restaurant standard

The slow cooked meals from Donald Russell offer pre-cooked “sous-vide” meals in the comfort of your own home. Shock frozen with 60 minutes of cooking, you simply need to place these meals in the oven to restore them to their glorious slow cooked state. The Donald Russell chefs have selected some of their favourite, meaty main courses – from bone-in Lamb Fore Shanks, to succulent Pork Cheeks, Beef Brisket and even a Half Chicken. They’re rubbed with complementary aromatics – herbs, spices, garlic, lemon and more – and are left to marinate in their own vacuum pouches, creating a wine-enriched sauce in some of the finished dishes.

Slow Cooked Beef Brisket in Stout Gravy

We were lucky enough to try a couple of the dishes in this range, including this slow cooked beef brisket in stout gravy. This is very much a take on a classic brisket, but it has been given a new lease of life thanks to a dark stout and rosemary sauce. Cooked super slowly for 6 hours and then sealed up, all of the slow cooked tenderness comes to fruition in every mouthful. Simply delicious, rich and velvety – this really was a taste of restaurant quality food.

Slow Cooked Chicken Crown in Gravy

A great alternative to your typical home cooked chicken dish, this whole crown of chicken breast is succulent, tender and full of flavour. Kept on the bone to seal in the flavour, chicken stock and sage, plus a sprig of thyme give this slowly cooked meat a real punch. Cooked for 3 hours before being shock frozen, the ‘sous-vide’ process keeps all of the juices in the meat. Simply take it out of the bag, place in the oven and the slow cooked meat is bought to life.

The quality of each meal we tried more than justified the price tags, which are on the slightly higher side than you would usually pay for a home meal. For more information on the range and other Donald Russell products visit here.
