Dom Perignon’s famous 2002 Vintage Champagne is now available as a special edition, with a pop art homage to the late, great Warhol.

The 2002 vintage was released September 2010, to astounding reviews, with wine writers across the globe applauding the vintage –

Robert Parker awarded it 96 points and Janice Robinson has given this wonderful vintage a storming 20/20.

Poignant, but yet perfect, an extract from Andy Warhol’s diary in 1981 –

“A club of twenty guys who got together and they’re going to buy 2,000 bottles of Dom Pérignon which they will put in a sealed room until the year 2,000 and then open it up and drink it and so the running joke is who will be around and who won’t…”

Sadly, Warhol was dead six years later.

Warhol was termed a pop artist in that he worked with popular culture – The items of everyday life. He worked with celebrities such as John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy. He worked with everyday objects such as comic strips and soup cans.

So, raise your glass to this most perfect collaboration. Warhol would have been proud to have been linked with such fantastic Champagne.

The limited edition Champagne is available in Pop Art Warhol red, blue and yellow, designed by Central St. Martin’s London Design team.

It can be ordered now from The Champagne Company for just £120. Not bad for such an Iconic vintage and Iconic design
