Autumn is well and truly underway. Torrents of rain, cold weather and a general dreariness… it’s enough to make you want a G & T, or two! This Autumn, one of our favourite British gin distilleries has produced a sublime offering, which captures the feel of the season perfectly. Introducing Rock Rose Gin Autumn Edition from Dunnet Bay Distillery.
Dunnet Bay Distillery describe this special Rock Rose Gin Autumn edition gin as “a warm gin bursting with berries and light spice”. Surely, if you are a gin fan, that has you excited already?
The Autumn Edition has been lovingly created using a seasonal blend of the finest botanicals and the distillery’s traditional Rock Rose botanicals. Supplementing the traditional blend for the season, are luscious blackberries and raspberries, plus blaeberies from the local Dunnet area. Once you add in the Vietnamese coriander and nasturtium flowers, there is also a beautiful spice to the gin. The overall effect is that the spice and berries reduce the citrus and zesty nature of the gin we became accustomed to with the Summer edition. It is also worth noting that the coriander and the nasturtium flowers are all grown on site in the Rock Rose geodome. This is just another reason this gin is so special.
Each botanical is picked to a very high standard and then added to the Dunnet Bay Distillery copper pot still. The still passes vapours over the basket where our botanicals will impart their wonderful flavours creating the delicious taste that is Rock Rose gin. We are also big fans of the whole ethos of Rock Rose Gin, there is something exciting about the product’s craft and the passion for the product we get from the brand.
