It being a bit nippy day today I was delighted to try a Talisker tipple. Oh boy did it warm the cockles of my heart….

If you’re leaving a nip for Santa or sipping a dram by the fire – whisky seems to have some intrinsic Christmas qualities.

For the lead up to Christmas Talisker whisky have created a new luxury limited edition Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Christmas gift pack, proceeds of which will go towards helping the charity save lives at sea. I have to say that this is a charity that is close to my heart and in the name of giving Santa his traditional winter warmer I shall be making a purchase.

Talisker say:

“The gift pack from Talisker, the only single malt Scotch whisky distilled on the Isle of Skye, contains a 10-year-old bottle of the award winning Scotch. This award winning whisky, which has a deliciously smoky sweetness that develops into a peppery finish, is enclosed in a stylish blue nautical themed gift pack with a unique canvas sailing label.”

From a flavour perspective it certainly delivered a smooth tickle on the taste buds….

Kirsty Templeton, Senior Brand Manager for Talisker and single malt whisky says:

`The RNLI Portree lifeboat crew on Skye plays a vital role in helping to ensure the safetly of visitors to the island and our distillery, and we are pleased to support their lifesaving work. We`re very excited about this fundraising initiative and giving whisky fans the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas gift with a difference.`
