Why not combine art and fine food for a fantastic evening in the capital this spring?
sketch in Mayfair continues is continuing its partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, by offering tickets for the Gallery`s latest exhibition, Bailey`s Stardust, along with a three-course gourmet lunch in the two Michelin-starred Library and Lecture Room.
Priced at £48 and running until 16th May, diners can enjoy a seasonal Gourmet Rapide menu that will change every week, created by Master Chef Pierre Gagnaire. Starters include Butternut Squash Veloute` with Saffron, Terrrine of Venison and Foie Gras with Toast and main courses of Veal Blanquette with Ginger, Potato Puree with Nori Seaweed, Basmati Rice Pilaf with Grapefruit and Cocotte of Black Rice with Purple Sorrel. Guests can choose from a selection of `Pierre Gagnaire` desserts or cheese and a glass of champagne, coffee and petits fours are also included.
Diners will receive a ticket for the Bailey`s Stardust exhibition, located just a ten-minute walk from the iconic venue. Bailey`s Stardust is a landmark exhibition of portraits by one of the world`s most distinguished and distinctive photographers, David Bailey.
Over 250 images, personally selected and printed by Bailey, are presented thematically across a series of contrasting rooms and illustrate the range of subjects that he has captured throughout his career: actors, writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers, models, artists and people encountered on his travels; many of them famous, some unknown, all of them engaging and memorable.
The exhibit runs until 1 June 2014. sketch`s gourmet lunch is available Tuesday to Friday,12.00-14.30 until 16 May 2014.
