New Fashion Designer Sophie Anderson Impresses With Her Collection Of Bags and Scarves

We wanted to highlight fashion designer Sophie Anderson who has a sensational collection of bags and scarves.

Launched in October 2011, the Sophie Anderson collection is a fusion of vibrant colours and designs. The collection comprising of hand woven bags, based on the traditional South American `mochila` design and a beautiful array of pure cashmere and cashmere, silk and wool mix scarves.

Sophie sources traditional South American designs and working together with the local indigenous tribeswomen and artists, finely adapts the colour and style according to her eclectic eye. Each piece is a combination of modern and antique designs incorporated into a variety of materials and textiles.

The collections are available at Brown`s and Fenwick in London, Club 55 in St Tropez, Elefante in Ibiza, Luisa via Roma in Italy, Henri Bendel and Hirschleifer`s in the US to name a few.

Born in Kuwait and raised in Oman, her international childhood exposed her to a wealth of colour, materials and traditional skills, providing her with the taste and inspiration for sourcing, adapting and styling the unusual.

Sophie initially trained in Montessori Education and then as a Yoga Teacher, before going onto use these skills to travel and teach in different countries around the world. She eventually embarked on Interior Design and Styling where her love of creativity flourished and it was during her time living in South America that the Sophie Anderson collection was born.
