Luxury Phuket Resort – Amanpuri With New Pool Pavilions

The island of Phuket has seen a huge increase in tourism in the last decade, which inevitably tends to spoil the luxury destination in question. I, for instance, would now not set foot anywhere near what used to be my most favourite location in Crete. Shame.

Phuket, luckily, has somehow managed to retain its original charm. On the west coast of Phuket lies an exclusive luxury Thai resort, Amanpuri.

With 40 pavilions and 30 private villa homes, set amongst a mature coconut grove, this is a luxury location Thailand can be really proud of.

The resort has its own beach club with a midnight blue lap pool and views over the Andaman Sea.

The private beach, with sand so white you need shades, is completely unspoilt

Designed to reflect Thailand`s graceful architectural style in harmony with the idyllic natural setting, the resort is imbued with a sense of timeless elegance – a gracious retreat set apart from the outside world.

And now, it gets better.

The new Pool Pavilions, completed this month, feature swimming pools up to 10 metres in length. The pools are set in the gardens of the pavilions and are surrounded by a private sundeck with loungers.

The pools have been added to two one-bedroom pavilions and one two-bedroom pavilion. Each pavilion is furnished in traditional Thai style, with a king size bed, oversized bathroom and an outdoor dining area.

You can also take advantage of the Aman spa for Yoga and meditation. Alternatively, the resort also offers a Pilates studio, gymnasium and tennis courts.

Me? I`ll be by the pool.
