Dunhill go digital with stunning Day 8 platform

DAY 8 is a unique, online platform created and managed by dunhill to showcase some of the most inspiring and fascinating content the web has to offer. DAY 8 lives on dunhill.com and as an iPad app. DAY 8 is not a blog, or an e-zine, it is the world viewed through the dunhill eye. Content takes the form of images, articles and film housed within an online interface.

According to dunhill:

“Day 8 will always reflect the dunhill brand pillars of creativity, elegance, travel, culture & intelligence, the editorial stance for DAY 8 is simple: Created or curated content – always engaging. Interesting is not good enough. It must inspire and fascinate.”

To launch the DAY 8 platform, dunhill has created three ground breaking short movies. The first movie is a behind the scenes short movie of the dunhill `Homes` depicted in drawings by celebrated illustrator, Chris Dent. It was the intricate yet simple line that Chris Dent uses to create his densely informative cityscapes, which brought dunhill to approach him with a very unique proposition; to capture the four Homes of Alfred Dunhill, in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai & Tokyo, in one piece of work. The result is a magnificent, sprawling cityscape that depicts Bourdon House (London Home), Prince`s Building (Hong Kong Home), the Twin Villas (Shanghai Home) & Ginza (Tokyo Home) neighbouring each other while the iconic Oriental Pearl (Shanghai) brushes shoulders with the Millennium Dome (London) and the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

To celebrate the launch of DAY 8, dunhill will be selling 20 limited edition signed prints of this piece of urban art exclusively on dunhill.com.
