Chapel Down Bacchus Gin Reviewed

Chapel Down (you may recognise the name), has become renowned for being one of the England’s leading vineyards. The latest release from them is however, not a wine, but in fact a superbly English gin and we adore it!

Bacchus Gin combines all of the finesse, skill and experience Chapel Down exhibit in their wine making, with modern gin distilling techniques for an entrancing offering. All of your dreams of a tipple that combines the best bits of gin with the best of wine have come to fruition!

The gin is produced by the distillation of grapes from the previous year’s harvest, it is then carefully infused with juniper, coriander, elder-flower, angelica, lavender, orange peel and lemon. The presence of the grapes give the gin an intense aroma of fresh and vibrant Bacchus wine, with a citrus peel and fruit hit. On the nose, this gin is a real power house and there is a very memorable profile to this gin. A stunningly English gin and one that we expect to be in bars and homes across the nation.

Aesthetically, this gin has the wow factor too, all thanks to a striking and elegant bottle. According to Chapel Down the “custom-made 70ml glass bottle links back to the two production processes; distillation and winemaking. The bottom half of the bottle reflects a cut-glass crystal decanter and the frosted top half of the bottle denotes the classic shape of a wine bottle.” Find out more on their website, where you can purchase a bottle of Chapel Down Bacchus Gin for £35.
