The `Master of Spirits` Luxury Drinks Auction.

For serious luxury drinks see the `Master of Spirits` event, featuring the most prestigious and rare champagnes, wines and spirits in the world.

Taking place in Singapore on March 12, 2011, this luxury drinks auction promises to set new benchmarks in terms of price. It`s a collectors dream!

The House of Rémy Martin will be under the spotlight, Louis XIII is putting three lots up for sale, including an incomparable carafe of Louis XIII dating back to the 1930s.

This was created from a series of decanters that were served as part of a royal banquet in 1938 at the Chateau de Versailles in the presence of His Majesty King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

The crystal carafe, whose value is estimated at $ 50,000, has no peer. I think it`s a fair bet that the auction will exceed (obliterate, even?) the valuation.

Its contents, Louis XIII Grande Champagne Trés Vieille Age Inconnu, is a crown jewel of the House of Rémy Martin, containing eaux-de-vie dating back to the mid-19th Century.

The carafe, numbered 718, is presented in a unique seamless full-grain leather and rare wood box set.

In addition to this unique item, the House of Rémy Martin will offer for sale two of the last remaining carafes of Louis XIII Rare Cask and one magnum decanter of Louis XIII Black Pearl.

In the drinks world, this is one exciting auction. I can`t wait to see the results. And, as its Friday, I have been inspired to have a couple of cognacs myself. Although, I will be drinking the more reasonably priced Remy Martin VSOP!
