It’s difficult to think of somewhere pleasant to stop for drink off Oxford Street this time of year. Yet help is at hand- I’d advise checking out the Adam and Eve on Wells street. Although popular with the after work crowd during the week it’s hidden away from shoppers at the weekend and can therefore offer a buzzy night out or shopping retreat depending upon your preference.

With brightly walls and funky furniture it’s interior has recently been re-designed interior to create a modern and contemporary environment that feels bang up to date. But this doesn’t mean you can’t order traditional pub food and drink, as part of the Geronimo inn chain it offers the usual gastro affair with a retro twist. For example I ordered an ‘old school’ and utterly delicious prawn cocktail starter from their special menu. The portions are very generous too; their beef burger and hand cut chips were not for the faint hearted and very welcome after hitting the shops!

With great music, attentive and chatty staff as well as an extensive drinks menu this place is sure to be a success!
