sQuba $1.5 million Underwater Car

I think most of us have seen the “The Spy Who Loved Me” the iconic Bond movie.  Remember the scene where James Bond escapes a villain by driving a Lotus Esprit Turbo into the ocean.

Well, an ingenious Swiss company has turned fantasy into reality by designing and building the world’s first auto submersible.

Named the sQuba, the car cost $1.5 million to build and has the following spec:

Max speed under water: 4mph

Max speed on land: 75mph

Max dive depth: 10 metres

Time limit under water: 90 minutes with oxygen tanks stored behind the seats

Power: Three rechargeable Lithium ion batteries
