Holy Land Cruise on the Azamara Quest - Food and Drink - Part 2

WOW! – I could sum up our complete food experience aboard the Azamara Quest in this one word.
We tried all of the dining options available during our time on board and all were absolutely fantastic.
One of the entertainers asked the audience one evening if they were enjoying the food on the cruise and the response was a resounding YES – some even gave a spontaneous round of applause. He also said never to ask a thin guy for an opinion on food - I therefore have the perfect qualifications to comment!
Our culinary tour is best broken down into the various options:-
Windows
This is open for most of the day serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon delights and evening dinner. It provides a fantastic selection of excellent quality food, primarily a self service buffet style but there are staff on hand to assist and waiters to keep you supplied with complimentary wine and soft drinks.
In the main, the tables are set indoors but there is also the opportunity to eat al fresco as the seating extends on to the aft deck.
There are theme nights for each evening’s dinner choices, or an array of alternatives.
Pool Grill
An undercover outside dining area adjacent to the Pool (as the name suggests) providing a selection of grilled specialities and salad bar; open between 11.00am and 6.00pm.
Discoveries Restaurant
The most popular dining area for evening dinner, but not quite so relaxed as Windows – men must wear long trousers and generally people tend to dress a bit smarter, although still very casual.
Discoveries restaurant is waiter service with an A la Carte menu which changes each day offering some ‘favourites’ along with choices for appetisers, soups and salads, salad entrees, healthy options and a selection of meat and fish main courses.
There followed a sumptuous choice of puddings and desserts with a cheese plate option also.
Again, complimentary excellent red and white wines were generously served and the meal rounded off with a coffee before retiring to the Cabaret Lounge for the evenings entertainment.
Alternatively coffee can be taken in the Mosaic Lounge where the regular pianist can be found. The Mosaic Café and Lounge area serves delightful Coffees, Teas, Pastries and a selection of Liqueurs and Tapas.
Aqualina and Prime C
There are two ‘speciality’ dining experiences which, unlike Discoveries, are only available for evening dinner and require reservations and a small additional cover charge (although suite travellers can eat here complimentary as many times as they wish).
Aqualina
The Aqualina is renowned for a superb contemporary American cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. It has a light airy feel, with tables set along a glass panelled wall offering glorious sea views. Our waiter described in detail each selection on the menu with great knowledge and enthusiasm.
Prime C
The Prime C is given the title of a ‘classic steak house’ but also offers other choices for those who prefer different alternatives.
It has a traditional feel and is furnished and decorated using dark wood finishes and red/brown upholstery. Almost everyone has a sea view whilst dining.
Service in both restaurants was outstanding, the waiters were polite and attentive but never overbearing.
Having shown some interest in the wines, the sommelier was extremely proud to outline with us the complete selection of champagnes and wines.
The quality of food and dining on the Azamara Quest is without doubt, exceptional.
If the choice of restaurants is a bit overwhelming, there’s always room service available 24 hours a day!!
