If you want to feel like your mixing it with the best celebs, then you might have to think about acquiring a designer pooch. But what if you don’t want to take on a dog full time?

Well, Flexpetz might offer the solution.

They enable you to rent-a-dog for around £25 ($50) per day. Not bad if you need to have the ultimate doggy fashion accessory. The Flexpetz service is due to also launch in London - Spring 2008.

I have to say that I think this is an appalling idea.Using a dog for transient vanity and ‘fashion’ is just awful. How confusing for the dog to be handed out to constantly changing scenarios, with people who have no idea of how a dogs mind works. It is not a toy!! What happens when in fear and confusion it bites someone or pees down their fancy clothes ??? Another poor creature to be disposed of adding to the huge numbers of animals dumped already.
