Gaucho Smithfield, London - Review
There is nothing more evocative for a confirmed steakaholic than the thought of a big fat juicy Argentinean steak lovingly prepared in a unique South American environment. So it was with great relish that I took my place in the Gaucho Steak Restaurant Smithfield and I have to say that I was certainly not disappointed.
I could wax lyrical about the outstanding service and the excellent ambience of the restaurant but what really impressed me more than anything was the almost lovingly way they presented their steaks and the attention to detail in their preparation and presentation.
It would be easy for me to let this review descend into a series of superlatives. Suffice to say that each of the courses that I enjoyed, the fresh oysters served on a bed of ice with a subtle wine vinegar and herb dressing, followed by a superbly prepared and divinely tasty rib eye steak with a final and very interesting selection of cheeses were an outstanding eating experience.
The meal was supported by a fine selection of Argentinean wines all selected by their very own sommelier who recommended very suitable and excellent wines that complimented each of the courses. Visitors to this establishment will not be disappointed. This, in my opinion, is an outstanding restaurant and a truly amazing eating experience.
Thanks Gaucho!
