It seems only a matter of time before Damien Hurst’s used tissue paper sells for a record price! At least, that’s where things seem to be heading after the Mail reports that a Damien Hurst Napkin sketch recently fetched $36,000 (£18,000) at auction.

The inked representation of Hirst’s diamond skull was carefully outlined on a napkin from London’s uber restaurant - The Ivy.

In a fabulous gesture of generosity Mr Hirst donated the skull representation to MacMillan Cancer Relief who subsequently auctioned the item at the Arts Club Mayfair.
