The wonderful St Pancras Renaissance hotel in London has always been a keen supporter of the art world, but recent developments sees this support go further.
Harry Handelsman (CEO of Manhattan Loft Corporation) and Thang Vo-Ta have launched St Pancras Editions, showcasing limited edition artworks including silkscreen prints, sculptures and photographs working closely with contemporary masters and the best emerging talent, which are available for sale and on show at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

The inaugural St Pancras Editions ‘Jean Harlow 2011’ was famous 60s pop artist Gerald Laing’s final ever work. In 1964 as commissioned by Robert Indiana, the original Hollywood starlet became the subject for Gerald Laing; it was here that the iconic ‘Jean Harlow’ artwork was born.
Exclusive to St Pancras Editions, this original silkscreen print allures beautifully to 60’s Hollywood glamour and sophistication.
No expense was spared in creating this luxurious artwork, the highest quality materials were used, including real Italian platinum leaf and silver-dollar foil.
Co-founders Harry Handelsman and Thang Vo-Ta have committed to choosing artworks which they believe will have an evergreen appeal, each with its own unique story.
Speaking of the ‘Jean Harlow 2011’, Thang Vo-Ta says; “It was a true honour to have had the opportunity to work with the 60s Pop Art pioneer Gerald Laing on creating this print, which we believe will have an evergreen appeal through its glamorous and sophisticated depiction of the legendary Hollywood icon Jean Harlow”.
The print is limited to only 200 and individually numbered. These editions will become lasting legacies for generations of art enthusiasts; celebrity collectors include Sadie Frost and Grace Woodward.

For whiskey lovers, this is exciting news. The leading American steakhouse in London, JW Steakhouse, have acquired their very own Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel.
This one off barrel will be the most unique new whiskey in London, with it only being made available exclusively to guests of the restaurant.

Only one in a hundred barrels is selected by Jack Daniel’s Master Taster to carry the Single Barrel label, and JW Steakhouse feels privileged to have acquired one of these.
Batch 1007 was selected as the first ‘JW Steakhouse single barrel’. It was agreed that the initial nose, which highlighted the toasted oak nature of the barrel would appeal to a traditional Jack Daniel’s drinker, whilst the hints of liquorice, smoke and toffee would remind them of the luxurious nature of the whiskey.
Following months going through the bespoke process, JW Steakhouse’s Single Barrel will arrive from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchberg, Tennessee and be available to buy in the restaurant in spring 2012.
The empty barrel will be proudly displayed at the bar having been sanded, varnished and engraved with the JW Steakhouse logo. Having been fledged a member of the Jack Daniel family, a plaque bearing the restaurant’s name will also be displayed on the distillery wall.
This unique new whiskey in London, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel will be available from March. It will be priced at £10.00 per 50ml measure and £130.00 per bottle. For reservations telephone 020 7399 8460 or visit jwsteakhouse.co.uk.
And if you enjoy the new single barrel at JW Steakhouse, why not take advantage of the adjoining London luxury hotel, Grosvenor House, a JW Marriot hotel?

Get ready for a new type of luxury hotel. The ground breaking contemporary ‘The Set’ brand from Visionary designers Alfred and Georgi Akirov have recently launched their first hotel in Amsterdam – The Conservatorium Hotel.
It looks good enough to be a primary reason to visit Amsterdam.

The 129-room hotel is located in the heart of Museumplein where some of the world’s most famous galleries and museums sit side by side.
Housed in a magnificent turn of the century neo-gothic building that used to function as Amsterdam’s former Sweelinck music school, the Conservatorium Hotel will offer guests an experience that is both locally oriented and world-class, bringing a new sophistication to a city that is currently enjoying significant resurgent interest.
Paying homage to the building’s original lofty ceilings, almost half of the rooms have been configured into stunning duplex layout with oversized functional windows and exposed structural beams.
Commenting on the opening, Group CEO Massimo Ianni said; “We conceived the Conservatorium Hotel in the belief that a hotel should be referential to its location, good design must be functional and exceptional service should be friendly. It is fitting that these are also intrinsically Dutch values and it is our hope that, in its newest guise”.
Under the direction of celebrated Dutch chef, Schilo van Coevorden, the Conservatorium Brasserie and Tunes Restaurant – the specialty restaurant provide seasonal menus, reflecting the Netherlands’ super natural products and history as a global trading center.
Similarly Tunes Bar acknowledges the heritage and liberal diversity of Amsterdam, boasting an exceptional selection of gins, paying homage to the Dutch provenance of the spirit, together with an extensive list of both traditional and innovative cocktails, a gourmet fusion tapas menu and an elevated smoking lounge.
Look out for more luxury hotels from ‘The Set’, based on their debut, this is one design team which cannot be ignored.
