Meribel has to be one of my favourite French ski resorts - even if that side of the mountain tends to go into shade come late afternoon.

Nonetheless, the quality of the skiing and the resorts apres ski are fantastic.

In terms of luxury chalets, I wouldn’t really want to look any further than this stunner which sells for around £28,000 (approx $45,000 per week).

Aecoris is a new and unique way to enjoy a lifestyle on the Mediterranean unmatched by boat chartering, fractional or traditional ownership.

The true benefit to a person joining the exclusive Aecoris private members club is that you save an absolute fortune without cutting corners. The company has established a joint ownership business which means that you share the costs and use. You simply take out an annual membership then book the vessel out as and when you want it, they take care of everything else including the commitment to liability, management and financial risk demanded of traditional ownership.

As a member you redeem membership points with your concierge in order to make a reservation. The points table then allows you to select what boat you take and when – there are no dictatorial calendars designating ‘time’ to members.

Interested, go to the Aecoris website here.

If you are looking at honeymoon destinations around the Mediterranean then Mykonos is an island you MUST include in your shortlist. The island can be reached either by internal flight from Athens or boat and as soon as you set foot you are hit by an incredibly chilled out vibe thanks to the sun, sea, air and extreme friendliness of the people.

The Island is the San Tropes of Greece, the destination of choice for not only film, football and music stars (to name a few), but also people who appreciate the finer things in life, such as pampering, shopping and a level of customer service that you’ve probably never experienced anywhere else.

We stayed at arguably the finest resort on the island, The Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort, which is a hugely popular spot for honeymooners and from the outset it’s easy to see why. The resort is situated on the idyllic cliffs overlooking a stunning stretch of the Aegean sea with views directly across to Delos, an uninhabited island rich with Greek history and mythology.

A new luxury stargazing camp in Oman is being featured by tailormade holiday specialists cazenove+loyd, between 12-19 December 2009. Oman’s skies are an absolute haven for stargazers and between the dates of 12-19 December 2009 you can look forward to a bird’s eye view of the Geminid meteor shower.

The Geminid meteor shower comes during moonless nights and in slower and heftier lumps than other meteor showers, so the trails are longer lasting.  The Oman skies provide unparalleled clarity due to a lack of cloud cover and absence of light pollution.
