Spanish designer Jaume Tresserra has come up with a delightful Carlton House Butterfly table. Perfectly designed for storing your correspondence, car keys and note pads.

The price tag of £11,500 ($23,000) is merited by the quality of the workmanship. The design is based on the traditional Carlton House desk, commissioned by the Prince of Wales in the late 18th century and named after the Prince Regent’s London residence - Carlton House.

The table can be made to order in light or dark walnut and includes two spectacular drop lids. The curved wings can be propped up using silver plated legs, which are designed to mimic butterfly antennae. Each desk can take up to ten weeks to craft.

Jaume Tresserra made his name when his Casablanca armchair appeared in the original Tim Burton Batman movie. He is now widely regarded as one of the world’s most sought after interior designers. If you’re looking to book him in for an interior revamp - bear in mind you probably won’t get much change out of £100,000 ($200,000).

I guess, considering you spend a good portion of your life in bed - it should be as good as you can afford. Certainly, I can vouch for what a poorly designed bed can do for your back! Hence my regular visits to the osteopath…

That’s why when I recently gave some consideration to a new bed, the Monarch Vi-Spring loomed large on my radar. This recently launched model, which is on sale exclusively at Harrods, retails for £24,275 ($50,000 approx). But, for that you get a six foot double bed, crafted from the finest natural materials. Fit for a king! Or according to Vi-Spring, fit for Mr and Mrs Beckham!

Now I found this little beauty by chance… It’s called the Montage Elite massage chair. It may be a little strange looking, but trust me… you won’t care if you get to sit in one. With a control panel the chair performs an infra red scan of your back to detect your individual acupoints to give you a truly customized massage.

image

Yes, this chair is clever! You can select one of 5 automatic programs, 4 manual massage programs and 4 back courses.

If you’re really feeling that lazy the remote control also comes with a wireless sub-remote control so you can make adjustments without having to move.  The Montage Elite massage chair can accommodate persons up to 6’ 5” very comfortably.

I couldn’t see price I’m afraid, but go check out the site today.

Renowned designer Moritz Waldemeyer  has come up with some amazing chairs that respond to the colour of a user’s outfit, projecting an aura of matching coloured light around the chair. Waldemeyer’s aim is to turn furnishings and furniture into interactive fun.

image

He says:

“This new creation is a piece of furniture that interacts with what you wear changing the atmosphere and space around it. A sensor in the back of the chair reads the colour of the clothing and projects it on to the surface behind using LED lighting. This gives the individual sitting on it their own halo of light, evoking images of religious icons and kings.”

Moritz Waldemeyer’s By Royal Appointment chairs retail from £9,998 ($20,000).
