We, at Lussorian, appreciate good quality and bang on styling, That’s why we are big fans of the work of Katharine Pooley.
The acclaimed interior designer has pulled off some pretty impressive projects recently. This post is more a nod to her range of standout unique pieces for your home. The Katharine Pooley boutique on Walton street, London, is chock full of inspired and beautiful items of furniture and objets d’art.

The Camel is a piece that best represents the quirkiness and individual nature of the items available.
It could also represent Katharine herself. Likened to a Camel I probably wouldn’t be thanked for, but (dug a hole here, haven’t I?) The Camel is well travelled, incomparable, majestic and very beautiful.
Standing just under a metre long and half a metre high The Camel has an impressive scale which would undoubtedly make a spectacular and eye-catching addition to the classic interior.
The Camel was painstakingly crafted in Asia over a period of 3 months and is made from solid sterling silver and teak root wood with the eyes made from exquisite tiger eye stones, known for their mystical and healing properties.
As well as being an impressive piece of sculptural art, the Camel has a variety of uses and could be used as a fruit bowl or table centrepiece.
This piece is available exclusively through Katharine Pooley.
(Approximate size: 38x92x41cm. Approximate weight: 17.00 kg. Price: £30,000.00.)

With Christmas but a breath away, I thought these beautifully hand carved rocking horses would be of interest.

With the far East mass production of childrens toys that have totally flooded the market, it’s refreshing to see something created for Children that represents true quality and workmanship.
The Little Wooden Horse is made using sustainable rosewood; the leather is vegetable-tanned and hand-stitched by a master saddler. The rocking horse’s artisans live in Peshawar, Pakistan and work together in a small, family-run cottage industry which has been making furniture for over 100 years.
This is a limited edition, rosewood rocking horse on a Georgian bow. A future family heirloom, an individually hand carved piece of art and the focus of any room
The horse also comes complete with a Time Capsule - for memorabilia and mementoes and personalisation is available with recipients/givers name placed on horse.
Both the saddle and bridle are fully adjustable and removable. It’s tough enough to withstand the most vigourous of play from child and Adult alike.
These wonderful carved rockers are available from mandoux.co.uk at £850, which includes UK mainland delivery.
Watch out for the equally excellent carved camels, planned for April and priced at £1,000. They are slightly larger and heavier than the horses and are sure to delight just about everyone.

Now Amanda Hutson has announced the launch of Hutson Bespoke, Luxury Furniture UK - with a range of new and exclusive designs.
The collection is full of unique pieces, from elegant tables, rich walnut desks and chic bedside tables to striking bronze pyramid cabinets, circular walnut mirrors and hand painted feature walls.
As you would expect, Every Hutson Bespoke piece is designed and created after close consultation with the client.
Hutson Bespoke combines contemporary and classic design aesthetics, with an emphasis on interesting and unusual finishes, including lacquer, coconut, veneers, gold leaf, upholstered textiles and resins.

To celebrate its launch, Hutson Bespoke is showcasing a small selection of designs in a window display at The Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.
Inspired by the ostentatious luxury of the 1920s, the display includes a hand carved mahogany stool, finished in silver and upholstered in cherry blossom silk and an oval, gold leaf drinks cabinet with chrome and glass detail. These pieces are set against a hand painted gold leaf cherry blossom wall finish and stunning bronze marble tiled floor.
This is seriously high end furniture with designs unique and in keeping with the Amanda Hutson ethic.
It’s not often you can say luxury and discount or cheap luxury in the same sentence with a lot of conviction.
