I’ve recently discovered one of Fulham best kept new secrets: The Seasoning Restaurant and Lounge.
The latest venture from expert caterers Nitin Munglani and Salil Bhatiafitzrovia (responsible for the infamous Gaylord in Fitzrovia), it boasts a new culinary phenomena: Indo - Chinese. The menu mixes a diverse range of authentic Indian cooking with Chinese inspired delicacies and far eastern ingredients. Their reasoning behind this? Just as Indian food has become hugely popular in the UK, so has Chinese food in northern India and The Seasoning intends to be the first to bring this to our attention.

I challenge any meat obsessed person to go to this restaurant to witness some ingenious cooking ‘without meat’, then leave disappointed!
I have always been obsessed with eating meat and can’t actually remember a day when I haven’t had had a slice of ham at least, therefore the thought of reviewing a new vegetarian restaurant in London didn’t overly excite my taste buds. However, we arrived open minded and were greeted by Donna, the owner, and some very homely Northern English hospitality.
Vanilla Black is not a ‘fussy’ place in terms of design, it’s spacious, well lit and a little like going back in time (in a good way) where you can leave the hustle and bustle of London behind you and relax in a pleasant environment that’s free of pompousness.

To experience a cruise fit for a queen check out the Hebridean Princess. The Queen chartered this small five star treasure for her birthday, and no wonder; it offers high-class voyages that hark back to a bygone era where passengers dressed for dinner and sipped martinis till midnight.
Carrying just 49 guests the Princess maintains a flawless reputation in exceptional service, fine food and luxury trappings. Guests can expert spacious cabins elegantly furnished with four poster beds, marble bathrooms, masses of wardrobe space and all the necessary mod cons discreetly provided (hairdryers, TV etc) All the rooms are romantically named after West Coast Scottish islands, castles, sounds, lochs and bays. Throughout the ship heavy drapes line the walls and shiny brass portholes punctuate the corridors. There is a cozy inglenook fireplace warming up the lounge and in the evening entertainment is provided by local singers and ceilidh bands. It has the flavour of an opulent Scottish country home and one can imagine it as the backdrop in an Agatha Christi novel or romantic gothic drama.

I was skeptical about visiting a luxury restaurant in the quiet leafy suburbs of Surbiton. How wrong I was! The French Table is a local treasure offering a far from mediocre dining experience.
Launched in 2001 by husband and wife team Eric and Sarah Guignard it has built a solid reputation by continually delivering high quality cuisine in a relaxed and unpretentious environment.
Eric, who trained in Paris and gained his experience in Michelin star restaurants, has created a mainly French themed menu supported by North African and Italian influences. From hearty Pork Belly to exotic monkfish- it caters for all taste buds.

Somewhere that might be ideal for a Billionaire Russian Oligarch pining for home might be Bob Bob Ricard based in London’s Upper James Street.

The Venue is attempting to fuse traditional Edwardian surroundings with Russian dishes, including Siberian Pelmeni and Vareniki – traditional Russian dumplings wrapped in thin unleavened dough with a variety of fillings.
Other dishes include Jellied Ox Tongue with Horseradish sauce (umm not sure about that one) or Russian Herring, all washed down by a shot of well-chilled vodka served at a gratifying -18C.
