For two nights only, Aura, the exclusive private members club in Mayfair is opening its doors to the public.

This is your chance to see how the well-heeled party. Normal membership is attained on an application only basis and costs £500, so this really is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a total luxury experience. Aura’s past clients have included Jade Jagger and Madonna, so you would be in fine company!

The reason for this exclusive opportunity is in the name of art. Aura has recruited up-and-coming London portrait painter, Caroline Wade for a ‘pop up’ show, based on figurative painting.

This particular art genre has strong links with Mayfair, so it is fitting that Aura are holding two such evenings.

Peter Snow, a leading journalist and broadcaster, presents his new novel - To War with Wellington at the Grosvenor House Book Club on Wednesday 9th March, 2011.

Insightful and authoritative, Peter Snow will recall the people and influences that turned Arthur Wellesley (later the Duke of Wellington) into one of the greatest military commanders of all time by leading his men across Europe to final triumph at the Battle of Waterloo in one of the most spectacular military achievements in British history.

The Radisson Edwardian Bloomsbury Street hotel in Bloomsbury is situated in the heart of the cultural and literary district of London.

image

This used to be the home of Virginia Woolf and E.M Forster. Not to mention Sarah Waters, Dave Boling and Nick Hornby all recently spotted at the hotel.

It makes perfect sense having a Bloomsbury Street hotel Book club.

And a year on from its launch, the book club has been a real success. On Valentines day, Guests and those popping in for lunch or a coffee/cocktail can curl up with the beautiful hardback ‘The Postmistress’, a critically acclaimed WWII epic.

The Yacht is a London private members club which focuses on business and philanthropy with a generous sprinkling of fine dining.

image

The Yacht London is the Epitome of Business mixed with Pleasure.

Located on as the “Mayfair of the river”, a short distance from the Houses of Parliament and where the City meets the West End. The yacht is a permanently moored luxury steam Yacht

The terrace area on top of the Yacht allows views of Millennium Bridge, the Wheel, the Tate Modern, the Oxo Tower, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the NT, the Gherkin, St Paul’s – all of London’s most prestigious landmarks close to the river Thames.

A major restoration project, The Yacht has been carefully restored in close consultation with English Heritage and PLA Archivists to bring it back to its former glory, retaining many original features of the Art Deco era with a twist of contemporary design.

A fine dining restaurant serving modern British cuisine with European influences is possibly the most impressive aspect of this exclusive club. Head Chef is James Sheridan, who has previously worked under several Michelin Star Chefs.

The Yacht London is owned by Prince Nicholas Khan- Roper and Jason Khan. The inspiration and reason for this exclusive London private members club is their late auntie, former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

After she was assassinated, the owners wanted to make her proud. I’m sure that they have succeeded.
