Personally, Laurent Perrier has to rank as one of my favourite champagne brands. Crisp and refreshing flavours all contained within aesthetically pleasing packaging. It’s with this in mind that I think Laurent-Perrier have launched their spring gift set.

To celebrate longer, lighter days and the freshness of Spring, Champagne Laurent-Perrier has created a limited edition gift set comprising four champagne glasses to compliment the essence of the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé.

The four champagne glasses are decorated with a delicate cherry blossom design and presented with a 75cl bottle of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé in a stylish pink gift box.

Fans of Louis XIII, the premium cognac from the House of Rémy Martin, gather round as a miracle has happened!  Behold the Louis XIII Rare Cask 43.8 – a unique special edition that can’t be predicted or replicated.

Extra strong with rich flavours this rather special Louis XIII was discovered by cellar master Pierrette Trichet whilst conducting her regular tastings.  Instead of being the normal 40 degrees, this cask was a higher alcoholic level of 43.8 degrees.  Which I’m guessing is pretty strong!

No one really knows how this Rare Cask came to be.  Anything from slight movements in the cask at the time of blending or historic conditions at certain movements in the ageing process – it’s a cognac mystery!  After four years of watching over the cask though Pierrette decided for the first time ever in the history of Louis XIII this cask would be presented as a special edition – the Rare Cask 43.8 was born!

As a city dweller I like nothing more than being able to shake off the shackles of winter and indulge in some much needed al frescoe dining- yet London seems to require constant negotiation with the weather, noisy traffic, pollution, tourists and school kids! So instead of digging out the picnic hamper I got myself down to D&D’s Blueprint café situated in shad Thames where floor to ceiling windows offer stunning panoramic views of the Tower Bridge. Celebrating its 21st birthday this year Blueprint is one of the more stylish and sophisticated ways in which to enjoy the riverside. Part of the Conran chain this is the Design Museums answer to fine dining and naturally oozes class; bright and airy with modern finishes the interior maximizes natural light and relies on London’s backdrop for wallpaper.

As the day fades city lights glitter across the water and the restaurant becomes impossibly romantic- don’t waste this experience on cynics, Blueprint is a real gem.

Dalmore has just released its limited edition single malt: The Dalmore Mackenzie, inspired by Benjamin’s West’s infamous ‘Fury of The Stag’ painting. The picture denotes when the head of the clan saved King Alexander III from being gored to death by a stag in 1263, handing the family the rights to the royal crest. To this day, a stag adorns each bottle of Dalmore, including the new Mackenzie.

The launch marks the Dalmore distillery’s long affiliation with The Mackenzie Clan and a re-establishment of their partnership. The Mackenzie family have been the historic owners of the Dalmore distillery for almost century, and have resided in Strathpeffer, Easter Ross for centuries.

This partnership aims to protect Castle Leod, home to the Earl of Cromartie, head of the clan and spiritual home to all of the clan. Each limited edition bottle of Dalmore Mackenzie comes complete with an exclusive print of ‘The Fury of The Stag’ painting, which can be signed by the Earl himself. The Dalmore’s Master Distiller, Richard Paterson, certifies that “Whether you are a Mackenzie or not, with only 3,000 bottles available globally, this is your chance to own a little piece of Scottish history.”
