If you are anywhere near Madrid on 2nd July 2010 we suggest you get yourself over to the Picasso Tower, Madrid’s most iconic building in its business district, where luxury drinks brand Beefeater 24 will be opening the Midnight Labyrinth. For one night only the site will be transformed into London’s famous Vauxhall ‘Pleasure’ Gardens using 300sqm of traditional living hedge grown in England and forming a maze, which has been designed by the world’s leading maze designer, Adrian Fisher.

Between 10pm & 1am on the 2nd July you’ll be able to stroll through its narrow corridors and discover an interactive, multi-sensory garden of contemporary art, music, film and live performances from London’s leading artists. Attractions within the maze include:

• The Great Forest, with moonlight performances from Vicky Butterfly
• The Ruby’s-Red Cherry Orchard
• A London Disco Folly
• A Singing Portrait with Tricity Vogue, a unique musical cabaret artist
• The Ha Ha Infinity Mirror
• A Botanical Gin Garden
• Midnight Matinee at the Bird-House with performance artists

When two brands of this magnitude come together to create something as special as this, It needs to be reported in Lussorian.

Lalique have produced a unique decanter, the “Cire Perdue” – containing 64 Years Old The Macallan single malt. Whisky in a bottle? So much more than that!

The 64 year old is Macallan’s oldest and rarest whisky ever released. To give you an idea of value, The Macallan is the most sought after of all single malt whiskies in the rare whiskies auction market; a 60 years old Macallan, distilled in 1926, sold for US$75,000 to a South Korean buyer in 2005. As the Cire Perdue decanter contains a 64 years old Macallan, the oldest and rarest ever released by the distillery, the extraordinary price for the 1926 is likely to be surpassed.

An absolute rarity in itself. To compliment this exciting single malt is the skill and beauty that only Lalique can pull of. A brilliant master glassmaker of the Art Déco movement, René Lalique’s creations were highly eclectic. Indeed, it was René Lalique, who was responsible for the great technological and commercial revolution which even today continues to influence the way bottles of perfume are created and packaged. His works are displayed in more than 40 Museums worldwide including the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Lalique museum in Hakone, Japan.

Ok so you’ve got your Courvoisier Exclusif. Tasty spirit that it is, I was puzzling as to what else I could use it for.

Well it turns out those clever people at Courvoisier have some tasty recipes that can be enhanced by a splash of the “Exclusif” !!

Situated within one of our most favoured English Heritage sites at St Pancras station, you can find a champagne lovers paradise. Searcy’s Champagne bar boasts the largest selection of Grand Marque houses available in the UK, twenty of which can be enjoyed by the glass.

I never thought I would be writing about, essentialy, a bar at a train station for Lussorian - but Searcys offers much more than that.

Starting with the surrounding stunning architechture of the Barlow shed, to Europe’s longest champagne bar The place is very special. At over 90 metres long, no other bar comes close. The breathtaking, panoramic view of the entire terminal is on show from each seat at The Champagne Bar. Recharge while you watch the world scurry past.

Seating for 110, choose from 12 leather clad banquettes - which happily seat six (with individual fan heaters below the seats, which are also heated) to additional seating on small tables and bar stools.

Whilst not a restaurant, The Champagne bar does serve up some fine food, with the emphasis being on complimenting the Champagne. Open sandwiches and Champagne breakfasts fit the bill perfectly.

A stones throw from the Eurostar terminal, this is an ideal spot to meet for business or pleasure. The Champagne Sommeliers’ knowledge is extensive and shared willingly, so you could argue there is some education to be had!

If you are setting off from Kings Cross soon, do not forget to go out in style. You just cannot get any better than this.

May gardens are full of English roses right now signalling the start of the Chelsea flower show. It’s alive and blooming until the 29th May and I’ve been lucky enough to view the stunning Laurent Perrier garden by award winning designer Tom Stuart Smith.

He’s teamed up with architect Jamie Fobert to create an elegant and sophisticated space, which perfectly suits a summery Champagne soiree. Jamie ‘s stunning bronze pavilion is composed of folded copper sheets that overlook Tom’s woodland flora. The show garden is a vision of modern sophistication and well worth a visit; in fact it’s just been awarded a gold medal!
