The unusual but rather beautiful diamond skull created by Damien Hirst has been sold to a unnamed investment group for £50m ($100m)
As you might expect, the investment group intend to hold the artwork and then resell at a later date. No doubt for a considerable profit.
Interestingly, Mr Hirst will retain a small share in the piece adding to the debate about artists retaining a royalty when an artwork is resold.
The piece has received it’s fair share of criticism and controversy but personally I find it quite beautiful. Admittedly, I wouldn’t want it morbidly sitting on my mantle piece - but I can appreciate it’s unique qualities.
As we reported, the diamond encrusted skull includes a stunning pear shaped pink diamond set within the forehead and cost £14m ($28m) to put together.
Dates are due to be confirmed for a world wide tour / exhibition of the piece.
Got a spare £25,000 GBP knocking about and you’re deaf? Well check this little beauty out, a 24 Karat Gold and 220 Diamonds Hearing Aid manufactured by Widex.
It may be a little bling for your granny, but it’ll certainly have her dazzling again!

A diamond the size of a tennis ball has laid claim to the title of the world’s biggest diamond. Unearthed in South Africa, the stone weighs in at a hefty 6,000 carats or 42oz.
The giant find is estimated to be twice as big as the next largest gem quality diamond (the Cullinan Diamond) which weighed in at 3,106 carats and was found in Pretoria a little over 100 years ago.
The diamond was photographed next to a mobile phone to give it some scale.
Value of the stone has been estimated at $30 million (£15 million) but will ultimately depend on it’s purity.

I didn’t need a lot of convincing to research the world’s most expensive bras as you can imagine. My research has taken a little longer than anticipated for some reason but I have come up with what I believe to be the world’s two most expensive bras:
No 1 – The 2000 Hearts On Fire
It took an breastaking (excuse the pun) 20,000 hours of labour to cut and polish this little beauty and a further 300 hours to design and create it.
It was created to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Victoria’s Secret ‘Fantasy Bras,’ which have a combined value that surpasses £50,000,000 GBP in diamonds, jewels and precious metals.
