It probably feels as weird to me writing about Christmas right now as it does to you reading about it…it’s just 3 months away after all!
So if you are particularly organised and have started looking for gifts for your loved ones already but have hit a brick wall then these ideas from British Luxury brand, Alfred Dunhill may inspire you.
The brand have just launched their new Christmas 09 catalogue, which we have to say is full of absolute marvels when it comes to luxury products. Here’s our top three:
Shagreen Compendium - £25,000
Christmas is all about playing games right! Well, with this Stingray skin covered Compendium Christmas will be no boring affair this year.
This is our favourite product out of the catalogue this year and comprises a shagreen-covered box and cedar wood boards for chess, backgammon and noughts and crosses, all complemented by Sterling Silver playing pieces. At the bottom of the compendium you’ll also find dunhill playing cards, poker dice, bridge score cards and dunhill gaming pencils.

To experience a cruise fit for a queen check out the Hebridean Princess. The Queen chartered this small five star treasure for her birthday, and no wonder; it offers high-class voyages that hark back to a bygone era where passengers dressed for dinner and sipped martinis till midnight.
Carrying just 49 guests the Princess maintains a flawless reputation in exceptional service, fine food and luxury trappings. Guests can expert spacious cabins elegantly furnished with four poster beds, marble bathrooms, masses of wardrobe space and all the necessary mod cons discreetly provided (hairdryers, TV etc) All the rooms are romantically named after West Coast Scottish islands, castles, sounds, lochs and bays. Throughout the ship heavy drapes line the walls and shiny brass portholes punctuate the corridors. There is a cozy inglenook fireplace warming up the lounge and in the evening entertainment is provided by local singers and ceilidh bands. It has the flavour of an opulent Scottish country home and one can imagine it as the backdrop in an Agatha Christi novel or romantic gothic drama.

This one’s for the ladies who like the finer things in life… like Prada!
iStylista.com is a new Luxury Fashion Website that promises to be every fashionista’s luxury personal stylist and personal shopper. It’s designed for the busy woman in mind and utilises human stylists to pre-select the most suitable designer clothing based on your size, shape, colouring and body niggles (to name a few). Its unique selling point is the human interaction element; many other fashion sites such as shopstyle.co.uk and OSOYOU.com automate everything so have no true differentiation.
The site uses some very clever technology that allows the actual stylists to use their ‘professional experience’ and ‘style theory knowledge’ to look at an item of clothing and give it a scoring for specific elements such as body shape and how the item can enhance/disguise body niggles such as ‘chunky thighs’.

Remember the Beano… ? well you should do as it’s been around for 70 years believe it or not.
To celebrate, The Children’s Furniture Company has teamed up with THE BEANO to create just 70 rather funky Dennis The Menace Go-Carts that I’m sure would be on every little boy’s Christmas list.

It retails for £195 and I’m sure the cost per ware would be well worth it. It has been designed on Dennis’ original (some very iconic styling here) and is extremely sturdy – basically it will withstand a fair amount of ware and tear expected from your little rascals!
With each one you also get a Beano Goody Bag which will include a copy of the 70th Anniversary Edition of the Beano; plus pots of red and black paint to customise your kart in Beano colours. The Kart can be put together in about half an hour - you don’t need any batteries either!
The Kombi-Kart runs on good old fashioned gravity and turns any hill or slope into a fun-track.
