I don’t think there has ever been any doubting the quality of Bang and Olufsen products. Their styling is virtually timeless and the engineering is almost always perfect. But are they cutting edge anymore? I’m not convinced, but you still can’t take away the pure excellence of the Beosound 4 and Beolab 4.
Retailing for £2,500 ($4,000). Bang and Olufsen describe this product as follows:

You won’t find a safer pair of hands than B & O, their products rarely fail to deliver. But do you get a bigger bang for your buck elsewhere? The answer is unequivocally yes.
Quite frankly this is one of the most astounding pieces of sound system engineering ever seen. The Clearaudio Master Reference (not a great name in my opinion) comes with a £19,750 ($31,500) price tag but you’re getting a complete one off in terms of engineering genius.

If you’ve got a $100 million dollar yacht then you are most certainly going to need a reliable, luxury Jetski to make the most of those long lazy days at sea. Yes, they can be a bit dangerous in the wrong hands, but what an adrenaline rush.
Lussorian’s recommended Jetski purchase has got to be the Yamaha FX Cruiser which retails for £10,500 ($16,500).
Being a 3 seater with a top speed of 60mph this beast can really give you the high performance luxury you’re going to need.

Interesting post over on Optimal Strategy which claims that there is evidence to suggest an upsurge in luxury airtravel.
“Increased fears over terror acts on commercial airliners has led to a major increase in luxury airtravel. Eos, which flies Boeing 757 jumbo jets that seat just 48 passengers, has reported an increase in reservations by over 30 percent over the next three weeks. The jump has been largely attributed to frustration and fears caused by the recently foiled terrorism plot. The airline currently flies only from London to JFK, but plans on adding fourteen more routes by 2010.”
The big question is whether this is a long term shift and whether this will result in a more luxury centric airlines popping up. I suppose you might also have to ask the question whether you would actually be anymore protected from terrorism by using a luxury carrier. I have my doubts. What do you think?

The Vertu has long be the luxury cell phone of choice for the wealthy. Now it seems that it’s popularity is reaching new heights. According to Chris Harris Vertu’s marketing director:
“At the moment we cannot meet demand. Sales are more than doubling this year. We hope that pace will continue also next year,”
Apparently Vertu’s new cell phone model will hit shops next month and is expected to massively boost sales.
Vertu financial details are not revealed but analysts expect Nokia to sell about 330 million phones this year at an average of around 100 euros ($129) apiece.
According to Harris Vertu sells “tens of thousands” of phones at prices upto and beyond 4,000 euros.
“We are not in the hundreds of thousands yet, but our aspirations are there,” he said.
