A sofa is for flopping on right… after a hard day you want to come back from work and laterally ‘relax’ and let the day’s stresses and strains disappear.

Well, the ‘Cinéphile’ is a sofa that I can pretty much guarantee will do the job better than most others. Not only that, but it oozes Parisian style and glamour too and is bound to be the centre piece of your room!

It’s made from the pairing of two feather-cushioned, almost bed-length deep-seated lounge chairs in the finest quality leather, and forms part of the new Particulière’ Collection from Roche Bobois.

4 seater sofa (shown in black in image), from £10,782 depending on leather and finish
2 chaises longues side by side (shown in white in image), from £5,575 for each chaise longue.

Some months ago we told you all about the reincarnation of the iconic Poul Henningsen Artichoke Light that went on sale for around £18,000.  Well… we can now go one better and tell you all about the ’24 carat gold leaf’ version that retails for a staggering £55,648!

There’s only 50 of these iconic luxury light fittings, which were originally introduced 50 years ago specially for the Langeliniepavillonen restaurant at the Copenhagen waterfront. The originals were cast in copper with a brushed, slightly matt surface – not to dissimilar to the one before you which is also made of copper and then gold leafed.

PH Artichoke Gold is only sold by Louis Poulsen Lighting in Copenhagen.

I just love the name… the watch is a bonus!

Made by Cuervo y Sobrinos, the watch makes up part of a collection that stays true to its roots in the heart of the Caribbean.

The dial, case, lugs, pushers and materials are a combination of precious metals including titanium, gold, burnished steel and bronze. It also offers interchangeable rings that fit in layers between the case and the bezel. Other features include the case and chronograph pushers inspired by the shape of a cannon, grooved cannonball detail on the crown and the space between the lugs representing the bow of a ship.

To add to the Cuban flava the box it comes in is modelled around a “treasure chest” humidor and includes a deck of Cuervo y Sobrinos playing cards.

There’s 2 versions:
Chronograph: 25 of each in steel, titanium and 18-carat gold; and 125 of each in steel, titanium and bronze.
GMT: 25 of each in steel, titanium and 18-carat gold and 125 of each in steel, titanium and bronze

Retails around a respectable £4,825
