Lumie Bodyclock Iris 500 Reviewed

To keep happy and healthy, there is nothing more important than a good night’s sleep and great sleep hygiene. Thankfully, Lumie, creators of the original wake-up light in 1993,  have added another great product to their illustrious range of Bodyclocks… the Lumie Bodyclock Iris 500.

The Iris 500 utilises Lumie’s superb lighting technology to help you get to sleep and to help you wake up; however, unlike the other Bodyclocks, this one has a special trick up its sleeve!

Aromatherapy Meets Light Therapy

The Lumie Bodyclock Iris 500 has an aromatherapy diffuser, allowing you to add two separate oils, both of which can be triggered to help you get to sleep and to help wake you up. We tried the device with a calming lavender oil and refreshing orange oil, this provided us with two contrasting aromatherapy experiences for sunset and sunrise.

Easily programmable, the device allows you to set the diffusion times and to partner it up with the Lumie light technology too.

This combination gave us a wonderfully relaxing end to the evening and an invigorating wake up too. For us, the diffusion worked perfectly and filled the room with a pleasant scent each and every time.

How does Lumie’s light technology work?

Lumie have become specialists in creating devices which give you a relaxing descent into sleep and an energising wake up. The Bodyclocks do this by changing light intensity gently down for sunset and gently up for sunrise.

In fact, scientific studies have shown that this gradual change in light improves the quality of sleep and enhances the waking experience also. In fact, we have read that athletes, across the globe, use Bodyclocks to help them train all year round.

Light can be tailored to differing durations, ranging from 15, 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes) and a final light intensity to create your personal sunrise. With the Iris 500, this combination of light and aromatherapy gives the device a real wow factor and oodles of relaxation. This device is recommended for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and winter blues sufferers and anyone who would like to wake up brighter.
